Volunteer
The Hospitality Project has a variety of volunteer positions available for people with a range of passions, skills and talents.
Project set-up
- Help create a warm and welcoming space that invites people in to a community where all are welcomed to participate
- Gym set-up
- Help to create a respectful place that maintains the line-up for the Food Bank
- Clothing and goods merchandisers
- Help create an inviting "shopping" experience
- Coffee host
- Serve coffee, tea and other refreshments
- Resource rack
- Arrange resources to ensure they are accessible to people
- Clean up
- Help us leave the space tidy for the next group
Project Hosts
- Greeter and Seater
- Greet and welcome each person as they arrive
- Line Hosts
- Ensure smooth movement of the Food Bank line
- Hospitality Project Promoter
- Help ensure all people using the Food Bank are aware of Hospitality Project programs and services, and have access to resources
Donation Organization
- Clothing Closet
- Sort organize and get clothes out to the gym.
- Receive and sort new donations as they come in, esuring that all pieces are together
- Sorting Donations
- Sort, organize and package donations of clothes and goods, pet food, diapers and brochures
Administrative and office support
- Reception
- Help make sure each person contacting the Hospitality Project or the church feels welcome. [Note: people calling or dropping by the Hospitality Project are often in need. It is not our role to fix their problems, but to provide resources where possible]
- Clerical support
- Help us keep our data and papers organized and up-to-date
- Hospitality Drop-in support
- Support our other volunteers in various capacities
